All Stars Out in the Community! AllStars Learning Debuts at Lexington Discovery Day 2026
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, AllStars Learning for Special Needs made its very first appearance at Lexington Discovery Day and the 6th Annual Asian Pacific American Festival! It was a joyful milestone for our organization, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.
From Classroom to Community: Life Skills in Action
Our booths were bustling all day long! Together with our incredible students, families, and volunteers, we sold cotton candy, delicious snacks, refreshing lemonade, our specialized STEM Kits, and beautiful, handcrafted leather goods made by our parents.
But this day was about so much more than just running booths. It was a live arena for our students to put everything they’ve been learning in our Life Skills and Pre-Vocational classes into real-world practice. We watched our kids confidently:
Greet customers and answer questions about our products.
Handle money, calculate transactions, and give back exact change.
Communicate bravely and effectively with neighbors and strangers alike.
Seeing our students step outside their comfort zones, embrace the community with confidence, and participate so fully was deeply moving for all of us.
The Results: More Than Just Fundraising
It was a beautifully busy, fast-paced day, but every ounce of energy was worth it the moment we saw the smiles lighting up the faces of our children and their families.
After covering our initial costs, we raised a total of $272!
While the financial support is wonderful, the true value of this event goes far beyond the numbers. This was a massive, successful first step in AllStars Learning’s mission to bring special needs students into community practice, giving them hands-on societal experience.
A Heartfelt Thank You
To our families and volunteers: Thank you to every single friend who gave their time, love, and energy to support our kids. Because of you, we are turning the dream of a truly inclusive community into a reality, one step at a time.
To the Lexington community: Thank you to every community member who stopped by our booth, bought a snack, or shared a kind word. Your willingness to see, accept, and encourage our children means the world to us.
Moving forward, AllStars Learning will continue to create more opportunities for individuals with special needs to step into the neighborhood, build meaningful connections, and unlock their incredible potential.
Let's keep moving forward together!
